Subtitles are the difference between following a film and guessing at it, especially for international titles. On ElephTV, subtitles live where the title offers them, and the settings are worth settling in the first minute, not the twentieth.
Turn Subtitles On Early
Open the player controls as soon as a title starts and check the subtitle track before the dialogue gets thick. A subtitle track chosen mid scene is easy to miss, and rewinding to catch it breaks the mood.
If a title offers no subtitle track, that is the title, not a setting you missed. Not every title carries subtitles, and the catalogue is honest about which ones do.
Match Audio to the Room
Pick the audio track that fits the room: the original track with subtitles for a quiet evening, or a dubbed track when the room is noisy and nobody can read the screen. Both are legitimate, and the right one is the one the room can follow.
For late night viewing, lower the volume and raise the subtitle size if the player allows it. Dialogue stays clear without waking the house.
Fix Sync Problems
If lips and sound drift apart, close the title fully and reopen it. Sync drift is usually a tired player session, and a fresh start cures it more often than any setting.
The buffering companion is the Eleph TV buffering fix, and the film companion is Eleph TV African movies.
